Extra virgin organic olive oil from olive trees of the unique variety of Mavrolia, Messinia. Special oiling techniques were used, with special care for an excellent result. Mavrolia has been found since the time of King Nestor, in the olive groves around the king’s palace in the surrounding area of Pylos and Navarino. It is used for the production of olive oil, it can also be made edible. As a variety it does not have enough oil-content, but it produces an olive oil with unique characteristics. The fruit must be ripe above the medium to give us the desired result. Dense body with quite ripe notes of ripe olive fruit, almond, radishes and flowers, with a unique buttery feel and sweetness. Golden green color. In the local cuisine, Mavrolia olive oil is used to prepare local sweets such as kourambiedes, pretzels and petimezo pie, during the harvest season. FRESKO Mavrolia goes very well with velouté soups, veal fillets and milk-based sweets.
