Description
Approximately 5-7% of the Greek beekeeping production is fir honey. This rare product is collected during the first months of summer from the natural fir forest of mountain Kaliakouda in Evritania region at an altitude above 1000 m. Fir honey offers high nutritional and biological value. It is rich in minerals and trace elements (Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Iron). It has antibacterial, antiseptic and antioxidant characteristics. It is particularly dense with a wonderful aroma and a characteristic dark red color. Due to low glucose concentration this honey does not crystallize.
